Chapter: 7

As I fastened the cufflinks on my suit, preparing myself for the day ahead, my phone rang. I glanced at the screen and saw Michael’s name. I answered the call.

“Boss, some issues have occurred,” he said calmly. “I’ve learned that when our men set that Black Fairy on fire in his car, before he could die, someone intervened. He was rescued, and the police were called. He’s alive now—but unconscious. The media has also caught wind of the incident, and the police are investigating. It doesn’t look like an accident to them; they’re treating it as attempted murder.”

Rage surged through me as I listened. “How the hell did this happen under your watch?” I roared. “Those idiots couldn’t even handle such a simple task?” My voice thundered throughout the penthouse.

“Boss, they claimed the job was done,” Michael replied calmly. “But how that girl managed to save him—they don’t know. They’re just as shocked.”

“Girl?” I snapped. “What the hell are you talking about? Are you out of your mind? What girl? Are you telling me a girl saved that bastard from a burning car?”

My fury continued to rise, but shock and disbelief coursed through me as he answered, “Yes, a girl—but not just any girl. It’s the same one you were talking about last night. I’ve sent you a video captured by one of our vehicles’ dashcams. It shows how she broke the car window and rescued him.”

A violent wave of rage filled me. I cut the call and played the video. There she was—breaking the glass, pulling that motherfucker out of the flames. Damn it. She wasn’t even afraid. She had crossed the line now, and for that, she would be punished.

I called Michael again and demanded to know where she was. He told me she was on her way to the hospital where that bastard was admitted—probably to see him. Anger surged through me once more.

If you’re wondering how Michael knew her whereabouts so easily, it’s because my men have been following her like shadows. From the moment I saw her for the first time, she awakened a beast inside me—one I didn’t even know existed until that day.

I ordered Michael to kill those useless bastards. There is no room for mistakes, and they made a massive one. They’re lucky—they’ll receive an easy death. As for her, she will suffer a brutal end, one beyond her imagination. First, I will torment her so thoroughly that her ancestors will rise from their graves to beg for forgiveness.

Anyone who dares to cross my path has faced my wrath. And she didn’t just create problems for me—she defied me. I instructed Michael to arrange everything so that I could pay her a visit.

She stepped into the room where that bastard lay admitted. I was seated in a far corner, darkness cloaking me. A sickening smirk played on my lips as I anticipated what awaited her. She entered, her gaze fixed on him, and I decided to shatter the silence.

“Welcome, solnyshko.”

She flinched, her eyes widening as she searched for the source of the voice. Fear was unmistakably etched across her face.

I liked that.
